Unpaid off in-between of change of employer on H1-B.

Can I take unpaid off between change of employers?

I am currently working on H1-B for an employer & got a new job offer from a different company, they filed for my H1-B transfer (Still didn't get approved). Can I take unpaid off inbetween the employer change period (without being on anyone’s payroll) ?

Let’s say I leave my current company on 12th and join the new company on 20th. So I have around 8 days in between off. 

Will this cause any issue in the future during H1-B transfer/ H1-B extension or green card process?
