immigrant2009 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Share Posted July 12, 2011 All folks who became current in Aug and those waiting for Sept visa bulletin, I hate to sound pessimistic, but if the federal government cannot reach a deal by Aug 2, thats good bye to all USCIS processings till the budget is resolved... Good luck to us all! Here is some info straight from Murthy's website http://www.murthy.com/news/n_shutdo.html According to it, the USCIS continues to operate because it is funded by the filing fees. DOL does not operate, so Labor certifications will cease. DOS does not operate, so no new visas. From what I understand, USCIS would continue to process I-485s. Link to comment

The issue was resolved. immigrant2009 please have proper information before posting rumors. The current Debt Deficit that the Government is working on has nothing to do with the Gov shutting down.
