H1BEXT_SL
I have submitted on H1B Extension on SEP 15th 2017 (Vermont Service center). Still I did not have any update on the case. Any Idea how much more time will it take to process? Is there any chance that I may end up with RFE after waiting for 6 months? Link to comment
Chai
My EOS application has been received by VSC on Sept 15, 2017, same as yours. As of today, USCIS website mentions they are processing EOS filed on or before August 7, 2018. The timeline has been updated twice this month with 2 weeks of increment every time. So most likely we would get an update by end of March or early April. RFE thing very specific and cannot be generalized to every application, which has been delayed by VSC. Getting no update does not mean RFE possibility. Hold tight. Link to comment
hou2hou
Same here, waiting since Sep 19th. Current processing timeline says that USCIS were processing Augus'17 applications in Dec'17. So, this makes me believe for Sep'17 filings it will be around early march'18. Holding tight! Link to comment
sandhya676
I got response(RFE) for my H1B extension application filed for regular processing in Vermont. My application was filed on 08/17/2017. Link to comment
gaadi
My H1 extension was received by USCIS on Sep 26, 2017. Can any one clarify if accepting/processing 2019 quota applications further delay the extensions. Any insight is much appreciated. Link to comment
Chai
USCIS temporarily had suspended Premium Processing for FY 2018 in 2017. https://www.uscis.gov/archive/uscis-will-temporarily-suspend-premium-processing-all-h-1b-petitions I expect such thing would also happen this year too. USCIS might release similar memo in 2 weeks from now if that were to happen. Applications filed before April 02, 2018 most likely will NOT be affected. Wait till March end and act accordingly- a decision by PP V/S regular. Link to comment
gaadi
Thank you, your information is much appreciated. I was thinking around similar lines, will go for PP if I do not hear in next two weeks. Link to comment

For example : If visa is expired by jan 2018 , but the result for extension is out only in march 2018 - can we stay in US till march 2018 ? Link to comment
jrestrepo2012
Hello Everyone, Has anyone heard back from USCIS regarding their applications for h1b extensions? It has been over a month on the last post - mine was filed on Oct 17th, 2017 - havent heard anything back. Any update on yours would be appreciated. Link to comment
Chai
I got approval yesterday. The company chose to upgrade to premium processing. USCIS took 4 days to make a decision. Link to comment
