Jasmine99
Hello, An acquaintance of mine, who is an Indian citizen, had lived in USA briefly when he was posted in USA on work visa. During that time his wife, also an Indian citizen, gave birth to a child. They family went back to India when the baby was an infant and less than 1 year old. That baby, who is a US citizen by birth, has now grown to a teenager. We heard somewhere that she has to return to the USA at least once before she turns 18 years of age in order to retain her US citizenship. Is this true? If so, is there any way this could be avoided?
