I am wondering if there are any restrictions on international travel when H1B visa is set to expire in 6 months. Can I go to India and come back with out any problems if my visa will expire in 6 months. Thanks. Link to comment

Centepede Posted January 10, 2018 Report Share Posted January 10, 2018 The restriction is on the validity of the passport for 6 months. There is no restriction on Visa set to expire within 6 months. However, there might be a question about "Have you filed an extension?" "Will your employer be filing an extension?" I faced similar circumstances and question of that stature. Anticipating so prior to leaving US, I had obtained "Letter of Intention for Filing H1B Visa extension" as well as "Travel letter" from my employer both stated "We intend to keep Mr.ABC employment active during upon his return to United States of America" . I used the prior one however immigration office looked at it for less than 3 seconds and stamped my re-entry. Link to comment
