F1 to F2

Hello. I was an F1 student. It was my 2nd masters and I was in the 1st semester. I applied for F2 visa in the middle of the semester. Since I applied for F2 visa I havent followed the university curriculum required for an F1. I fortunately got my F2 visa status approved on Nov 30, 2017. Today I got an email from my university saying that, since you have not been in compliance with the F1 regulations you are being dismissed from the university. Please transfer your sevis record to other university within Dec 12. Now my question is:
1. Since my F2 is approved, do I still need to maintain and transfer my F1 SEVIS?

2. Once my F2 is approved, Is my F1 status not cancelled automatically?

3. Please let me know what can I do? Thanks!
