liaquat Posted November 7, 2017 Report Posted November 7, 2017 I am currently sutdying PhD it just one year passed. I have masters in engineering before from Germany. I put my profile on Linkdin and I am receiving job offers from different companies, but most of them asking for EAD which I cannot get until I finish my PhD. Now I am thinking of converting my F1 to J2 since my spouse is doing her residency in J1. I have these questions. 1. I can convert to J2 and can get EAD. Since J1 is subjected to waiver. the 2 year HRR rule will apply to me also. Can I convert my J2 to H1b if company sponsor me for H1B or this is not possible? I must do the waiver first then I can do it ? 2. If My spouse got some waiver then She will have H1b and I will be H4. Can I work on H4?
