asam Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 My wife applied for her 10yr GreenCard renewal in Mar 2017. She completed finger prints and ASC put a sticker on the back of her card extending the validity of GC till Jan 2018. It's November now still waiting for replacement card. Current GC renewal process it show Oct 2016. Based on that it can take more than extended validity of the card. My question is do I have to wait until the new GC card or can I still apply for Citizenship with expired GC, if not received before Jan 2018?
JoeF Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 It is just the card that expired, the status as LPR stays valid. Based on that, it is of course possible to file for naturalization, even if she hasn't received the new card.
asam Posted November 7, 2017 Author Report Posted November 7, 2017 thank for the quick response. So this WILL NOT create any conflicts at USCIS correct, as I am waiting for new GC and applying for Naturalization?
