Applying for different type of visa

Hi

My 2016 H1B was denied. We have given an appeal for that and the process is going on. Now, I have a job offer (have not accepted it yet.) from a very reputed US based multinational (position is not US based) and they "may" send me on an L visa to the US. Do I have to give them details of my H1B application in order to do this L visa, or is that an independent process? Hope my question has clarity.
