Need to go for stamping while travel India with pending visa transfer

Hello,

I'm traveling to India with family with a pending Visa transfer. I wanted to keep my kid with my parents and bring him back to the USA early next year with them (they have visitor visa).

If my Visa transfer didn't get approved by the time of travel does my kid face any issues at the port of entry? Also, I don't think he needs to go for stamping until my transfer gets's approved, please confirm.
