Move from Profit to Non-Profit to Profit company on H1B

Hi,

I used to have a H1B visa from profit company(2 yrs) and then took a full-time in Non-profit organization in 2015. Now the company is still working on whether to sponsor for a permanent residency(GC process) as the project is a RESTRICTED term(Meaning my role will end when the project is complete). I want to find an other job before my 6 yrs of H1B gets finished which is in 2019.

Do I have to get into quota again and wait till April 1, 2018 for a new employer(if profit organization) to file H1B for me ? Any details or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Once you have been counted for the quota and haven't used the full 6 years, you can switch between for-profit and non-profit without going through the quota.
