Question regarding my wife H4 extension

Here is my situation, Recently i got my H1b extended from Aug 2017 to Aug 2020 and my employer forgot to apply H4 extension for my wife and her current H4 visa expires on 23rd August 2017. If i  apply H4 extension for my wife now it may take up to 6 to 9 months but she needs to travel to India for her sister marriage from August 10th to September 10th . So my question is rather than applying H4 extension here in US, can she go to India before her current visa expires(Aug 23rd 2017) and get it stamped in India based on my H1 extension ? In case i apply for H4 extension here in USA and if she visits India during her visa process does it gets cancelled?

No need for extension, go to India and get stamping done, that's the fastest way.
