H1b freeze and reactivate

Hi,

I am working in OPT extension. My current company will file the H1B petition this year and suppose it will win the lottery.

I am also thinking to go back to school to get a second master degree. So is that possible to freeze that H1B now and reactivate it after I graduate. Of course I will quit the current company and find a new one after graduation.

If I can, what should I do?

you will again have to go thru lottery.

No. An H1 "just in case" is not possible anymore. It also is very inconsiderate towards others who also want to get an H1.

If you don't start to work on that H1, you will not be considered counted in the quota.
