Taking the first steps towards GC

After 5 years of working for my current company on H1B, they have decided to begin my GC processing this year (in EB2). Below are the dates for your reference:

20 Mar 2012 - I entered US (on H1B)

15 Apr 2018 - The day my current visa/petition expires

01 Feb 2017 - The day my company filed for prevailing wage

I've been lurking here for a bit now and as I understand, PERM should be applied 366 days (to be sure) before the expiration of the H1B (6 years) for there to be an extension into the 7th year.

From what I've read on the internet, the current timeline for Prevailing wage is about 101 calendar days - so assuming this is true, my prevailing wages would come through in the middle of May 17. Adding about 1.5 month's time for other processes/wait times, the earliest my company can apply for PERM is about end of July/early August 2017.

Do you think my above thought process is right?

Assuming my PERM is applied by Aug 2017, do you think there is time for me to get my I-140 to be approved before April 2018? Is it possible to extend the H1B beyond this time?
