Options to H1B to H4 COS + H4 EAD?

My i797 is valid till Nov, 30 2017.  And my husband’s H1 i797 (has i140 approved) is valid till Dec, 30 2017. He can submit extension in July 2017.

I am working full time and don’t want this COS to impact my work.

What are my options/recommendations?

1. Submit change of status H1b to H4 and apply for H4 EAD right away in Jan – as Vermont center processing time for COS is showing 5-6 months processing time?
   (or)
2.  Submit my husband’s H1b extension (in premium), H4 COS and H4 EAD concurrently in July? Will I get H4 and H4 EAD as well in 15 days?
