Automatically extend EAD if it is applied ontime.

Friends,

Under the new rule which USCIS has passed few days back, does EAD automatically get extended if its applied 'ONTIME'  (if its applied 120 days prior to the expiration date). My Greencard EAD expires on Feb18,2017 and so I've applied for renewal 120days prior to the expiration date which is Oct22nd,2016. Just wondering if the new rule helps me in this situation. Thanks in advance!
