victor256in
Hi everyone! I recently got my second visa stamping done successfully at the US embassy in New Delhi. my old visa was valid up till June 30th 2015. The validity of the new H1B is between June 3rd 2016 through June 30th 2018. My question: Are they supposed to put a 'cancelled' stamp on my old H1B visa? I did ask the guys and Stanley and they said the embassy stamps it sometimes, and sometimes it does not, and it should not be an issue. Although my feeling is that it is nothing major, I thought I should ask for an opinion. Appreciate any feedback on this! Thanks :-) Link to comment
rksingh
The guys at Stanley were right: Most of the times, the consulate will mark the old visa as "cancelled without prejudice" but sometimes will forget. Either way, your old visa is no good anymore. There should be no issue at all for you at all. In fact it is entirely possible that at your next visa stamping, the visa officer MAY go back and stamp ALL your old visas as "cancelled without prejudice" provided they notice the un-cancelled ones.
