Travel back 2weeks left on expiry of old stamp with renewed I797

Hello all,

Can you please help me understand .If I travel back to US just before 2 weeks left on my visa stamp and carrying approved extension I797 does the CBP officer gives the I94 according to new I797 or Visa stamp ?

Is there a way to know right there what the new I 94 date that was updated .I believe they write the date in the pp stamped space as admit until date is that considered as I 94 date that's been updated ?

Can I ask officer what i94 date was updated in system when I am there ?

In worst case if I get i94 date as visa expiration date that is just 2 weeks from I enter and I already have new i797 how does that work? Do I need to Travel back to get the new i797 (i94) updated ?Will I go OOStatus if that's not done ?
