hnt23
Hello, I am a Software Engineer from Ireland who has been working in the US on a H1B visa for 4 years and 8 months. The company that I am currently working for is sponsoring my Green Card. I have an offer from another company and I am considering whether I should accept. My questions are as follows: My current company has collected all the necessary paperwork to file an EB2 Green Card (5 years experience + bachelors) and they have filed a prevailing wage request with the Dept of Labor which we should be getting back in the next 1-3 weeks. Is their any advantage to me waiting for this to come through? Could switching companies at this stage have a negative impact on a future Green Card application. I.e, if I jumped from companies while the DOL was processing my PWR does this make any difference. I understand that In order to stay on a H1B beyond 6 years I need to have filed for a Green Card 365 days prior. Does the PWR count as a filled application? At this stage in my H1B visa, how risky is it for me to switch companies? Any help or advice on this issue would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
