US born baby for stamping interview

Hello guyz,

Myself & my spouse are going to interview for getting our visa stamped. Can we take our 10 month old baby with us? Baby is US born - she doesnt require a US visa. But can we take the baby to the embassy that the kid should be with her mom?

What should I do to take the baby with us to embassy?

If you cannot leave the baby with family then give the consulate a call. You can see why they may not want a very young baby in the premises.

Hi, I just went for my stamping at the HYD consulate and took my kids with me. It was not problem at all. Just make sure you take your kid's US passport along with you. Only the desi security guards at the main outside gate will want to see this.

It depends. Some consulates do allow it, some don't.

HI ,

I took my 19 year old to the consulate , Me and my husband had the visa appointment at same time . They did not say anything. did not even ask about the baby as to why is he here. They just asked if baby requires visa too , we said no and they said OK . But you are not allowed to take any baby food etc inside, you can take water though , so feed him/her well before you go , so that he is ok during the interview.

I took my 8 month old son to Kolkata consulate and there was no problem. He did not need a US visa...me and my husband had gone for stamping together.
