H1b Visa - Changing field from mechanical t computer engineer in same company

I am working for XXX company as a Mechanical engineer on an h1b visa. Since scope for mechanical is a little less, I started doing programming, and i got a job as a computer engineer in same XXX cpmpany

Can I file an Amendment for an h1b visa and change job duties?

It won't create any issues right changing field and job duties on H1b visa in the same company. I will file for an amendment

It will. Changing the field is Big issue and very had to get an approval.

You can file anything you want through company attorney, but I am certain USCIS will issue RFE.  Amendments are relatively easy if done for lateral positions/role, yours is completely different.  Mechanical engineering is NOT equal to Software engineering

Run it by your employer's attorney.

Once you have enough experience in Software engineering, you may try education + experience evaluation which may be helpful.
