I-797 is valid but I-94 expired more than 180 days

Recommended Posts

I have valid VISA and I-797 till July 2021. Got this in 2018.
Entered US in June 2019, CBP stamped my passport and provided an expiry date as July 2021 on passport(Although the password was set to expire in April 2020).
But when I check online I-94 now, it shows July 2020 as expiry date. Got my new passport in March 2020.

Please suggest/guide what I should do in this circumstance as my I-94 is already expired for >180 days.
1. Can I file nunc pro tunc? Do I need to leave the country and return only if nunc pro tunc is approved.
2. Can I request CBP to correct this.

Contact your local CBP office, if not already done, with all your valid documents and request them to correct the date of I94, online.

Due to COVID-19, many CBP offices are accepting emails too.  Try emailing them and see if this online I-94 will get corrected.

You are already due for an extension.  Some attorneys have filed extensions (similar to your case with success).  Good luck.
