F1 visa stamping (H1b revoked)

Hi Team,

I came to the US on a F1 visa that's valid till Jan 2019 and my OPT was valid till July 2019. I was on cap gap and my H1b got approved from Oct 2019 to Sep 2022. I haven't gone to stamping but in the meantime unfortunately my H1b got revoked in Feb 2020. Now I got an admit for a university and am thinking of going for F1 stamping in Mexico. 

I am bit confused here, will this be a change of status from H1 to F1 (my h1b got approved and revoked, “currently out of status” but I haven’t got my h1b stamped) or will this be considered as F1 to F1 visa stamping.

Please let me know what this would be and also any suggestions or alternatives.

Why was the H1 petition revoked? 

You should talk to a Lawyer. You cannot change status once you are out of status. You might find that you can only apply for a F1 visa in your home country.
