I am struck in India from Nov 2019 until now & living in an uncertainity whether I will be back to USA . User099 Posted June 30, 2020 Report Share Posted June 30, 2020 Kids can't give up US citizenship till they are 18. Without denouncing US citizenship they can't get Indian Citizenship. You have to wait till the kid is 18. Quote Link to comment

While a child can mean a minor, according to Merriam-Webster "child" can also mean "a son or daughter of human parents", i.e., regardless of age.
