USA born to Indian Citizenship

Hi,

    My kid was born in USA & she has US Passport & INDIAN OCI card . I am struck in India from Nov 2019 until now & living in an uncertainity whether I will be back to USA . 

In an situation where I happen to reside in India completely , please let me know the procedure to obtain Indian Citizenship for my Kid .

Please advise .

Kids can't give up US citizenship till they are 18. Without denouncing US citizenship they can't get Indian Citizenship. You have to wait till the kid is 18.

And the parents can't do that for the kids, either.

Once the child turns 18 the child can make his or her own decision.

Ofcourse the child is not a child any more when he turns 18.

Well... I'm not saying you're wrong, but...

While a child can mean a minor, according to Merriam-Webster "child" can also mean "a son or daughter of human parents", i.e., regardless of age. Language is messy 😉
