radha20
Hello, I am a H1-B visa holder along with I-140 approved. I am a professor in at an university where the job description allows for part time consulting of one day a week. I was approached for a consulting job by an organization. To handle this consulting job, I created a single member LLC. This was not necessary but I just created it in order to avoid signing contracts directly as a person. Recently, I became aware that a H1-B visa holder is not allowed to open an LLC and also cannot work on such consulting jobs. I have already performed half of the consulting job and some amount has already been deposited into LLC's bank account for that. I have not taken out any amount from the LLC's account. My question what is the best way to to remedy this situation so that this does not create any issue in the future. I really appreciate help on this matter. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
User099
You need to consult an attorney. Quote Link to comment
