Visa stamping in India during Covid 19

Hi ,

Right now IAM in India and need to go for H4 visa stamping . I have all documents along with latest H1B approval notice . But due to Covid _19 the US  consulate is temporarily closed in India . Do anybody know is there any process to go for visa stamping?  Do anybody in the same situation at this time ? Any guidance please .

You go to the consulate for Visa stamping, that is the process. There is no alternative to that.

My wife and I are also facing similar situation, currently the slots are opened for feb 2021. My gut feeling is now that most of the countries are opening up and domestic flights have started -  very soon will have embassies and consulates opening by mid june and I have read a few articles where they might even consider having online appointments & reuse bio metrics as all us citizens who work in consulates have left India.

Can I fill DS-160 form now and submit . ? When they reopen the consulate will they consider that form ? Or should I submit the form only when they reopen ?

You can, but its good to wait and submit when you have a set date. Its good have a DS160 as current as possible when you go for the interview.
