samimohd
Hello, I have a question about naturalization eligibility of my mom. She became a permanent resident in 2012 and continuously lived in US for 6 years. She has to go back to India in March 2018 for 2 years. She has a approved valid reentry permit. Can she apply for naturalization based on her prior eligibility or does she has to wait for another 5 years after she re-enters US in February 2020. Hope you can clarify.Thank you. pontevecchio
https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/article/M-476.pdf She would be eligible after 4 years and one day after returning within 2 years. Have a look at the USCIS Manual referenced above. Quote Link to comment
