H1B Transfer after I94 Expiration, while extension pending with current employer

Hi,

My H1B is filed on Nov 2018 and extension is in progress and my I94 got expired on Mar 2019. My end client is doing H1B transfer if it got approved

 Can i join the new company with I94 got expired, is it fine? 

 or

do i have to wait for the current employer petition to be approved also and then only join the new company?

or 

go for stamping with new company i797 and come and join. is it fine to go for stamping while other petition/extension is in progress.

Since your I94 expired I feel you can work only after anyone H1B approved. There is a time limit to stay in USA after I94 expired, Find that out.

Looks like you may not get the I-94 as your I-94 is already expired on your new H1B transfer. But not sure talk to your attorney. you have 240 days time limit after your I-94 expired. you can stay in US until that time
