Recently my H1B got approved for 2 years, employer missed to file H4 for kid and spouse, how to process with this case?

My H1B got approve on 2/28/2019 for 2 year, on checking with employer they confirmed they have not filed H4 extension for my kid and spouse. 
My kids (5 year old), I-94 expired on 08/07/2018, however my spouse I-94 is valid till 08/07/2019. 
which option I have to prefer 
1. File H4 extension for both and wait for approval 
2. Go to India and then go for Visa interview and get visa stamped for H1B and H4 on same time

Note- My last visa expired on 08/07/2018
