L2 to F1

Hi,

I am on L2 (thorough my father L1) and pursuing my Junior college. My father i140 is approved and we have applied for i485 Nov 2017 and have got the EAD and AP for myself. I am turning 21 Sep 2019 and hence L2 will cease to be valid. Do I need to convert myself to F1 or I can continue on my EAD + AP until GC is fully adjudicated. Also if I get F1 will it impact 485 processing

What is his PRIORITY DATE?

You will need F1 status at the appropriate time to continue studying .

You basis for immigration will change and that may mean a wait. A consult with a lawyer as to applicability or not of the "CSPA" may be of help along with general guidance about this issue. Contact the firm of Murthy or any of your choice for guidance.
