Dependent (L2) entry in US with 5 days of valid VISA

I have L1A VISA valid till 12-AUG-2018. Filed extension already for both me and my wife. Due to some family emergency, my wife needs to travel India and might be able to come back by 07-AUG-2018.

Is there a chance of an issue at the port of entry (San Francisco) since the stamped current VISA on her passport will have only few days of validity left?

She will need to carry proof of having filed the extension . Moreover you would seem to be a senior person company wise and hence you should be able to run specific concerns by the company lawyer. If an extension of status is filed while one is here and one subsequently travels, they will be let in to resume the EOS.
