I-94 Expired - what are next steps to follow -ASAP

Hi all,

Passport got expired on March 31 2018, CBP officer issued I-94 till March 31 2018 which is expired now, But have a valid VISA through Sep 01 2018. Did not notice I-94 got expired, because did apply for renewal of passport where we send old passport too. With delay from consulate i got new passport last month.
Any suggestions now to follow to get valid I-94?

I am in the same situation, I applied for my passport once I get my passport. I need to decide where to cross the border, not sure if there will be any problems. I appreciate if you could share your experience.

According to INA 222(g), if you stayed past the date on your I-94, with no pending Change of Status/Extension of Status application, the visa you used to enter the US is automatically void, so you need to get a new visa even if it is unexpired. Furthermore, under INA 222(g), you can only apply for US visas from a US consulate in your country of nationality from now on.
