I am currently on F1 OPT which ended on June 30th 2018. Have 58 days left, excluding today before I must leave. My husband is also on F1 OPT and has just applied for stem extension. His OPT ends on July 14 2018. Would it better to apply for a change in status while staying back in the US? I heard that I cannot travel while this is processing but have no idea how long this will take to complete. Or is it better to terminate my F1, leave U.S and come back with a fresh F2 visa from india? Which will be faster? Which method is low risk? please help.
