How I can expedite my waiver according my emergency?

Am working in USA on j1 visa since four year. I travelled to India for two weeks and applied to renew my J1 visa but USA consulate did not give me visa by stating the reason that am not eligible for J1 visa since I want to be an immigrant in United states. Now I stuck in India though I have an ongoing job in USA. I already applied for J1 waiver, my all documents have been received by DOS a month ago but my stars is still pending. My institute  needs me asap and they are gonna apply for H1B after that. Can my employer write to them to expedite my waiver by explaining my current situation? or what else we can do to expedite this process? I need assistance regarding this soon. Thanks:Bharti

May I ask what the nature of the job was? Obviously it was never meant to be open ended .

Is medicine involved by any chance?
