L1A/EAD - International Travel / EAD renewal

I am currently on L1A visa and my petition is approved till 'Aug-05-2018". Also my Greencard is in process for which I’ve received EAD which is valid till 'Sep-13-2018'. I am planning to visit India around 20 April. Below are my details :

Last date of US arrival : 24-Nov-2016

7 years stay in US will be completed on 5-Aug-2018

Can you please advise on below questions:

1. Is it safe to travel outside US when Greencard is in process.
2. Is it advisable to enter United States on EAD even if petition is approved till “5-Aug-2018”
3. Since I’ve valid EAD, do I need to get my visa stamped and enter United States on L1A visa

4. As my EAD is expiring on 13-Sep-2018. So I will be applying for renewal but if EAD is not approved by 13-Sep-2018 , can i legally stay and work in US  on extension receipt ?

1. The approval is not related to travel.

2. AP lets you in. EAD is immaterial.
