Permanent resident marrying a UK Citizen

Recommended Posts

I am permanent resident (GC) in USA marrying a UK citizen. We don't want to stay separate

1. What are my options to get my spouse GC at the earliest, so we can stay together in USA

2.  And If I plan to join my spouse in UK,  What do I need to do maintain my GC ?

Anyone else in similar situation, please advise a best option.

You can sponsor your spouse for a GC, but that takes a couple of years.

As a Permanent Resident, you have to reside in the US. You can not just move abroad.

The best option is to wait with marriage until you have become a US citizen. There are no quotas or wait times for spouses of US citizens.

I will have to wait atleast 4.5 years before I become US citizen, it is a very long wait.. I will be thankful If you can suggest options.
