Bharathn
Hello, Would you please advise whether to go ahead with visitor visa for me. I hold a cap exempt h1b. But, stamped visa has expired. I got 221G during the previous H1 stamping due to not providing client letter in May 2016. My wife is currently in US, working on Student OPT. Its been two years since we met. Had tried for F2 visa, but got 214B in June 2016. So, under the above circumstances, is it a good idea to try and get visitor visa to go and visit my wife? Thanks, Bharath Link to comment
pontevecchio
You can certainly try. But it will possibly not be granted. If you do be absolutely honest and say you want to visit her for 6 weeks and get an appropriate job leave letter. If the antecedents of her college are doubtful, then you may not get a visa. H1 with a good employer seems feasible. Link to comment

Are you referring to citing a significant event, like her graduation? She hasn't taken the grad walk yet, waiting for me. Link to comment
Bharathn
Also my current employer has promised to apply for my h1 amendment early next year. But it's not 100% sure. So, getting a leave letter from my employer for 6 weeks might be tricky. Please advise any other letters like employment letter payslips could help? Link to comment
