dbals
Hi folks, Looking for some advise on my situation here. My employer's legal team filed EB1 i140 for me. They mailed all the i-485 docs i sent them with their sign (as employer) in supplement J. They are asking me that i can either mail the docs to uscis directly or go via my own lawyer. Does it make sense to go to a lawyer just to mail it to uscis? I believe my company's team has reviewed all the docs. Also if mail my i485 to uscis and if my i140 gets rejected, will uscis still cash my i485 checks? PS: really grateful for this forum so people like us can collaborate together. Link to comment
JoeF
The fees are application fees, not approval fees, so there wouldn't be a refund once they have accepted the application. It is always safer to use a lawyer to double check things. If you are comfortable with the application, you can of course send it out. Link to comment
pontevecchio
It does not make sense to use a Lawyer in this instance. But surely the company used a Lawyer to file the I-140 and now they are being cheapskates unless you misunderstood and all they are asking is for you to mail it. Link to comment
dbals
The company told me that they dont want to wait around for the priority date to become current for EB1. They are in a rush to reduce workload. Link to comment
