What is the non-immigrant status spouse can be on when I complete my GC?

What are the options to keep spouse's status without filing for GC/I-485. I am filing employment based I-485, but I do not want GC processed for my spouse. I want to keep my spouse dependent (H4 or similar) on status even after I get my GC finalized. We are uncertain about the future of marriage.

What visa type is available for foreign national spouse of a GC resident? Looking for a visa type of non-immigrant status, NOT looking for sponsoring GC for the foreign national spouse. Thanks

Received an RFE for - Evidence of actual work assignments, such as technical documentation, milestone tables, funding documents. Is this type of RFE a big concern? How to handle this query? It seems like all the documentation was sufficient on the employer-employee relationship etc. And they couldn't find any flaws so they came up with this. Thanks

The driver's license expires on the end date of the h1b. If the extension takes many months to process beyond the end date of the current h1b, then is there any provision for extending the validity of the drivers' license? Or one has to live without DL till the h1b result comes.

My employer said my H1b petition will be filed in the Chicago center. Never heard of that before. Is there a Chicago office? How long do they take for processing extensions?

Hello, My current h1b expires on 1st Jan 2020 My I-94 expires after 10 days on 11th Jan 2020 I have been on h1b for 12 yrs, 6 years with the current employer. My project is going normal, I will continue working for this same project, the extension is needed. My employer has not given me any indication if an h1b extension is filed. What shall I do? thanks
