jaband123 Posted March 6, 2016 Report Share Posted March 6, 2016 Hi All, I have my I-94 expired on feb 7th 2016. I have my H1B visa validity till Jun 2017. On I-797 I have the I-94 expiration valid till Jun 2017. I travelled India in May 2015 when returned the I-94 validity was given till Feb 7th 2016 based on my passport validity. I had my passport renewed recently but dint update the I-94. What is the best approach that I need to follow in this situation ? Thanks JD Link to comment
rohang Posted March 6, 2016 Report Share Posted March 6, 2016 Your are accumulating out of status days, since feb 7th. Visa validity doesn't matter. You need to leave country and enter back, and get new I94. Or visit CBP center. Link to comment

pontevecchio Posted March 7, 2016 Report Share Posted March 7, 2016 The CBP will not help since the OP had one full year to extend his passport and in any case they do not oblige. You can get a new I94 at say Tijuana or any suitable border for you. Why did you not inform your company about this matter? They may have applied for another extension if you are valuable enough.
