amp0201
Guys, Need your help !! I started working in US on H1B from Oct 2009. I got my visa extended in Feb 2013. I got new visa till December 2015. However, I got admit from MBA school in Canada and decided to move to Toronto in Aug 2013. I didn't get my passport stamped with new visa extension as I flew to Canada. Now my question is - I am still in Canada. If I get a job in US, does my new employer have to file for a new H1B or he just have to do H1B transfer from my old employer. Your help is much appreciated. Thank you, Akhil Link to comment

pontevecchio
Nothing called "transfer" Any new employer can file a non cap H1 petition for you for the remainder of your total of 6 years. Link to comment
amp0201
Thanks pontececchio. So just to clarify when you say remainder of your period it means = 6 years - no. of years I stayed on h1b in US. Right? Regards, Akhil Link to comment
