ratnakarp
Hi, Couple of days back my mother in law got her visitor visa approved and today (monday) we are supposed to collect the passport from the office. However, they called in and asked to come in for a Re-Interview. They didn't provide any further details. After digging into our details, I happened to found that my EAD (Green Card 485 Pending) is going to expire in feb 2015. I'm assuming that visa officer might be asking questions related to that. Does anyone of you have any idea what could be the situation in this case ? Generally Would there be any problem in applying for a visitor visa on this situation ? Any information or help is highly appreciated. What sort of questions the visa officer would be asking and what is she supposed to answer to avoid any rejections ? Thank you, Ratnakar. jairichi
Your EAD card has nothing to with your MIL's re-interview. Ask her to answer the truth. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Your EAD has no relationship to her visa. Possibly they may want to say Fingerprint her again due to technical problems? It is extremely unlikely to be a rejection. Link to comment
rahul412
Your EAD and visiting visa is no way related. Link to comment
MurthyIndia_Lawyer
Hello Mr. Ratnakar, As long as all information stated on the non-immigrant visa application form DS160 and at the visa interview was truthful, there is noting to worry. We have noticed in the recent past that some applicants were requested to come in for a re-interview and when the applicants visited the consulate, they were required to re-do the bio-metrics. Hopefully, it should not be anything more. All she needs to do is to be very honest and truthful at the interview. Should you have further questions, you can feel free to contact attorneys at Murthy Immigration Services. Best Wishes! Link to comment
ratnakarp
Thanks Everyone for the replies. Just a quick update, my mother in law's got her visa rejected. Visa Officer asked her family situation, like how many kids, grand kids, what are they doing ? Where are they ? And at last, "Your visa has been rejected". "My mother in law asked her again saying that you have approved visa last time, why are you rejecting again madam ?" Visa officer has no reply. Without arguing further, she came back. It is strange and still couldn't figure out why would they do like this ? Any thoughts ? Can i apply for visa interview again ? Link to comment
ashuneel
she should re apply after taking thorough look at all documents and family situation. Link to comment
