H4 EAD - H1 to be renewed

Hello,

My I140 (EB2-India) was approved last month. My H1B is coming up for renewal in August'16.

 

Question:

If I apply for my wife's H4 EAD now, will I have to renew it again in August? I learnt that it can take about 3-4 months for the EAD approval.

 

Given that it could take months for the approval to come back, does it make sense to

   a) apply for her EAD NOW, or

   b) should I just wait for the new H1B approval before applying for her EAD?

 

Please advise.
