H1B amendment status pending, can I file for H4 EAD?

Hello,

Currently I have my I-140 approved but my  'H1B is on status Amendment pending' due to change in client location. My Original petition is approved until April 2017. 

 

Given my H1B amendment is in progress, do I have to even wait for that to approve even before I file for my wife's H4 EAD?

not required. if the dependent is on valid h4 status and you have approved i-140, its enough to qualify for h4 ead

So what could be the expiration date on the H4 EAD then ?

Does it give the expiration date same as H4 expiration date (the previous I 797 expiration date) ?
