Two I797's Which one to use for H4 EAD

I am on H1B and my wife is on H4. I am in the process of applying H4 EAD for my wife.

 

We both have I797 and I94 valid till May 10 2016. I applied for renewal of my H1B and I797 and I94 valid from May 11 2016 to Dec 2018. 

 

Now to apply for my wife EAD, Can I use new I797 and I94 information as they are not active yet?  If not, if I use old I797 and I94 which will expire in a month, what are the chances that H4 EAD will be approved?

I think if you apply with new i 797 which is starting from May.

 

The issue date on H4 EAD also will start valid from May 2016 and expiry date as 2018.

 

I guess it is like this but not sure. Please update if you have already applied.

Use the new receipt number, also did you apply for H4 extension..? if so, once the H4 application is approved then the clock on H4 EAD application will start..
