ManiEAD Posted December 9, 2015 Report Share Posted December 9, 2015 Hi All, I have applied for H1B and my wife's H4 extension and have received our receipt notices and still pending. I want to apply for H4 EAD, what should I mention in question 18, previously approved H1B receipt number or new receipt number that I received for extension. Please advice. Thanks in advance. sagi85 Posted December 9, 2015 Report Share Posted December 9, 2015 EAD can only be applied after your extension is approved. Now you can apply EAD based on your previous H1 approval but the validity will be limited that of your existing H1 validity. You could have filed EAD concurrently along with the extension but you missed it. Link to comment

Now I also have the receipt number for the extension, but wanted to know which receipt number to use in h4 ead form I765. Link to comment
