H1 to H4 and EAD

Hello,

 

I am currently on H1 and I-140 is approved. My wife is currently on H1-B visa and she is thinking of moving to H4-EAD.

 

However we have following concerns,

1.       Can she apply H4 and EAD together?

2.       Till EAD is not approved, can she work on current H1-B visa

3.       How much time H4 and EAD processing will take?

4.       Lastly, is it advisable to move on H4-EAD?

 

We are not sure we opt this route, your suggestion will help us to make some decision.

1. Yes.

2. Once COS to H4 is approved she has to stop working till EAD card is obtained.

3. 4 plus months for COS to H4 and 90 days for EAD approval.

4. Depends on individual situation.
