H4 EAD Work permit while H1 & H4 extension Petition is pending and H1 is expired

If my H4 EAD having Expiration date 15th Dec 2016. Can I work even after 15th Dec 2016, if my H4 Extention Petition & EAD Extension is sent to USCIS before Expiration date.

I have the same question. Wife has H4 EAD card in hand now, but valid until Dec 26. My H1 (and her H4) is under process now. I know that we will need to apply for extension for the H4 EAD once we get approved H1/H4 and the approval for that can take anywhere between 10 days and 100 days. I also understand that for an EAD (not H4 EAD), one can't continue working until EAD is approved. I wonder if the same restriction applies to H4 EAD as well.
