abhishes
Hi, My organization had applied for my H1-B this year and I got notice from USCIS that my H1B has been approved. I have been told that the visa will become effective on Oct 1st. However because of personal reasons, I need to look for another job. Is it possible for me to switch job without loosing the H1-B which got approved (assume that the new employer is ready to apply for transfer). I guess the answer is no ... but just checking.... rahul412
Yes that's possible. Once your initial H1 is approved then your employer can file for new H1 (transfer) ANY time. Link to comment

Yes, a new employer has to file a cap exempt H1B petition. Link to comment
