OPT Extension RFE Pending 9 months

Hi,

 

I filed my OPT Extension on March to California service center.Raised  service request in july,august and oct got response saying background checks still pending.after 200 days on Oct 20 2013 they ask for RFE asking my employment history,paystubs,w2's,bank statements showing direct deposits,address proof's.repsonsed to RFE on Nov 20 2013.My 180 days grace period is ended.still showing rfe response review.can i continue my employment till the decision comes.Please let me know

As per USCIS.... U can work only for 180 days after your OPT Expiration..... If your OPT expiraion date is May 16 then u can work for 180 days after that date even if your OPT Extension is still under review

I am exactly under same situation but with different dates. I don't understand how should I file H1B after I stop working leaving me with no recent Pay stubs.

 

Which college are you from Victorm?

When you responded to RFE on Nov 20 2013, what is the last date given to you to respond? Somewhere in Jan 2014?

 

Did you file your own response or took help from Law firm?
